Generac Extended Warranty Protection
Eligible Generac home standby generators may qualify for extended warranty coverage for up to 10 years, helping protect your investment with added long-term confidence. Generac's extended warranty options are available in 5-year, 7-year, and 10-year terms, depending on the model and program.
A home standby generator is built to protect what matters most — and extended warranty coverage helps protect the system behind that peace of mind. Eligible home standby units may qualify for extended warranty coverage against defects in material and workmanship, with coverage options designed to provide stronger long-term protection than the standard warranty alone.
Unlike the standard 5-year limited warranty, which reduces in coverage over time, Generac’s extended warranty options are designed to provide full-term coverage for the selected warranty period, including major components, parts, labor, and limited travel.
In your last year of coverage? Now is the time to act.
For many eligible air-cooled home standby generators, extended warranty coverage can be purchased up to the end of the factory warranty period. That means if your unit is currently in the final year of a 3-year, 5-year, or 7-year plan, this may be your opportunity to secure coverage for up to a total 10-year term, where eligible. Timing and eligibility vary by model, so it is best to review your options before your current coverage expires.

Extended warranty availability, purchase deadlines, and coverage terms vary by model. For many liquid-cooled units the purchase window is generally within 1 year of activation, while air-cooled units may qualify up to the end of the factory warranty period. Final eligibility and terms are governed by Generac official warranty documents.
